Canada Creek Shelter
Canada Creek Shelter is a Michigan DNR backcountry hut on the High Country Pathway route area in the Pigeon River Country State Forest. It’s a small, three-sided wooden shelter with space for up to 4 people, and it’s set up for backpackers using the backcountry trail network rather than a reservable campground-style stay.
Use is free and it’s not reservable—plan to arrive ready to share the shelter if other hikers are already there. The shelter area includes a picnic table and a fire pit just outside, and the immediate vicinity is associated with Canada Creek and a short hike from nearby access roads along the High Country Pathway corridor.
