Route Details

Caribou Cabin is a Parks Canada backcountry hut on Mount Revelstoke, sleeping up to 6 people. It’s a winter/spring option (typically December 1 to April 30) reached by snow travel from the park’s access points—either about 8.8 km via the Summit Trail or about 20 km along the Meadows in the Sky Parkway route to the cabin.

The hut is set up for self-catering with a wood stove for heat (firewood provided) plus a 2-burner propane cooktop and propane lights. Use is limited to winter/spring dates; reservations for the cabin are handled through the Revelstoke Parks Canada Administration Office rather than the standard online reservation system. The cabin use includes exclusive use for a 6-bed layout, with a maximum group size of 6 and a maximum stay of three nights.

Operational planning is important: there are no campfires allowed at the cabin, and toilets are latrines (bring toilet paper). Bring your own light for the stay (cell service is unreliable/absent) and pack out waste. You’ll also need a Parks Canada pass for each member of the group, and you must book via the Revelstoke office during its Monday–Friday hours.
