Carinyah

Carinyah is a DBCA-managed backcountry hut on the Munda Biddi Trail in Western Australia, set up for overnight use by passing trail riders. It’s a rustic, off-grid stop intended for first-come, first-served nights (no reservations).

The sleeping setup is a large open-air wooden shelter with raised wooden sleeping platforms. Expect off-grid basics: rainwater catchment tanks, an unflushable bush toilet, and no electricity or drinkable water—water from the tanks needs treatment. Bike racks are available nearby, and picnic tables provide a place to eat.

There are no rubbish bins, so take all waste (including food scraps) with you. Vehicle access isn’t provided at the hut—tracks are blocked by white gates to keep out unauthorized motorized traffic, so plan to arrive by trail on foot or by mountain bike.
