Carr-Villa Hut
Carr-Villa Hut (also called Carr Villa Lodge) is a group backcountry hut in Ben Lomond National Park, sitting at the base of Jacob’s Ladder and used as a base for hiking in warmer months and for snow activities in winter. It is maintained and administered by the Northern Area Rover Crew, who run it as a hireable facility for scouting, school, and community groups.
The hut is set up for groups up to 18 people. Booking is handled through the Northern Area Rover Unit: scouting groups pay $20 AUD per person per night, and non-scouting groups pay $30 AUD per person per night, with a $50 AUD non-refundable booking fee to lock in dates. Facilities include a large bunkroom with two quad bunk sections (sleeps 14), a smaller bunkroom with two double bunks (sleeps 4), a bush toilet, a large kitchen with a communal dining area, generator power, solar lighting, an industrial gas stove, and wood fires.
