Casa de Doña Sara

Casa de Doña Sara is a backcountry mountain hut in the high zone of Cerro Champaquí (Córdoba, Argentina), used by hikers for an overnight stop, rest, and during multi-day crossings.

Access is mainly on foot via the trekking route that leaves from Villa Alpina and runs through the mountain range.

Sleeping is on limited rural high-mountain lodging capacity, with provisions for staying in shared rooms and also camping in areas set up for tents or bivouac.

There are no online reservation systems tied to the hut; overnight stays are typically arranged directly through local guides or tourism contacts, including arrangements handled at the staging area before starting the ascent from Villa Alpina.

Plan for strict Leave No Trace: you’re expected to take out all trash you generate on the traverse.

Water and power are limited, with water sourced from natural springs/seeps and electricity not guaranteed; pack and manage supplies accordingly.

For overnight autonomy, bring your own sleeping bag and insulation, and carry high-calorie food provisions suited to the multi-day crossing.
