Charlie Irvin Shelter

Charlie Irvin Shelter is a three-sided backcountry lean-to on the Tuscarora Trail in Pennsylvania, placed south of Waggoner’s Gap. It’s run by the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC) for long-distance hikers using the trail corridor.

Use is free and there’s no reservation or booking required; overnight stays are handled on a first-come, first-served basis (intended for transient overnight hiking rather than extended stationary camping). The shelter is free to use for long-distance and section hikers.
