Cow Camp Gap Shelter
Cow Camp Gap Shelter is a Natural Bridge Appalachian Trail Club wilderness hut on the Appalachian Trail with a lean-to shelter structure and use is free (no fee). It sleeps 8 and is first-come, first-served with no reservations accepted.
The shelter has an outdoor pit privy, and there are nearby springs to use for water. The facility is described as having two unprotected springs and campsites nearby; plan on treating water and using the privy for sanitation.
To reduce crowding impacts, Appalachian Trail Conservancy encourages registering overnight plans through its voluntary ATCamp platform, but ATCamp does not reserve shelter space—overnight sites and shelters (outside special areas) remain first come, first served.
