Curnows Hut
Curnows Hut is a walk-in-only overnight stop on the Heysen Trail in South Australia, used by Heysen Trail walkers and Mawson Trail cyclists. The hut and campground sit on private property, with no vehicle access via the locked gate off Springs Road; reaching it requires traveling on foot (Heysen Trail) or by bicycle (Mawson Trail).
The hut provides bunks inside an enclosed building, plus a fireplace and a table with seating. Bring a sleeping bag or liner for the bunk, and plan around limited on-site water: there are two connected water tanks supplying water to the hut area, and there is a toilet at the campsite.
Use is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no bookings. On arrival, hikers should sign the hut book, and keep common areas tidy while sharing the space with others.
