Darlington Shelter
Darlington Shelter is a lean-to wilderness hut maintained by the Mountain Club of Maryland on the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania. It’s a three-sided wooden structure intended as a quick refuge for long-distance and section hikers using the Trail corridor.
Use is free and first-come, first-served—no overnight reservations are accepted. Expect basic backcountry shelter conditions: hike in, sign the trail register, and share the shelter space with other hikers; there is no fee to stay inside.
