Davies Plain Hut
Davies Plain Hut is a backcountry hut in Victoria’s Alpine National Park. It’s managed for emergency temporary shelter rather than general accommodation, so plan to be self-sufficient and ready to sleep in a swag or tent instead of counting on hut-style overnight comfort.
Use is free and runs on a first-come, first-served basis—no pre-booking is required or accepted. Facilities are basic: expect a long-drop toilet and non-potable water, with no other amenities provided. Access to the Davies Plain area via Davies Plain Track is for high-clearance 4WD with low range, and many alpine vehicle routes are subject to seasonal road closures from mid-June until the end of October.
