Ear Mountain Shelter Cabin

Ear Mountain Shelter Cabin is a wilderness emergency shelter in Bering Land Bridge National Preserve, operated by the National Park Service and intended for use along existing winter routes when conditions turn extreme. The cabin is equipped with Nordic stoves and a 2-burner Coleman cook stove, and it has a VHF radio repeater that requires a standard 12-volt battery to power the repeater.

Use is lifesaving rather than for routine overnight stays: some cabins are in poor condition and are only for emergency use. You must bring your own #1 diesel fuel for heating, and plan for no food or water being available inside the shelter cabins.
