Glenmerry Shelter
Route Details
Glenmerry Shelter is a backcountry ski warming hut on the Paulson Cross-Country Ski Trails network, operated by the Castlegar Nordic Ski Club. It’s an A-frame cabin-style shelter with a wood stove and an outhouse, tucked into the trees at the remote end of the Glenmerry area.
The shelter is used as day-use warming space (no bookings taken; first-come, first-served). It’s about 6 km from the Glenmerry parking area and is a destination for more adventurous skiers on the network.
Access is tied to the trail fees: non-members must pay a daily trail fee. Day passes are available at the Glenmerry Trailhead on weekends via fee collectors (cash/cheque), or by using an honor box and signing in when a collector isn’t on site; debit card/TAP payments aren’t accepted at the trailheads.
