Route Details

Hankin Fire Lookout is a backcountry fire-lookout cabin used as a rustic base in the Hankin–Evelyn Backcountry recreation area. The cabin sleeps up to six people and is heated by a wood stove, with a propane cooking setup inside.

Booking is handled through the Bulkley Backcountry Ski Society (BBSS) system. Use requires an active BBSS membership, and you reserve your dates through their booking portal after your membership is in place.

The cabin is equipped with basic cook gear and firewood for guest use; it’s intended as a place to book and stay overnight (not a day-use warming hut). Firewood provided for guests is for indoor use, and the operator asks guests to keep the wood stove flames in check and leave the cabin clean after use.
