Hermit Thrush Cabin is a hike-in wilderness backcountry cabin in the mountains near Valemount, BC, set at about 1,920 m (6,300 ft). The access hike starts at the owners’ home and follows a forest route along a creek for 5.8 km (3.8 miles) with an 885 m (3,000 ft) elevation gain, typically taking around 3 hours.

The cabin is a seven-sided structure with a screened-in porch for gear and a bug-free spot outside. Inside, it’s set up with a propane stove, kitchen supplies, bed, split firewood, a fire pit with benches, plus a screened porch and additional comfort items—while above the cabin, nearby alpine meadows are used for hiking, snowshoeing, and skiing.
