Hobbs Cabin

Hobbs Cabin is a primitive backcountry wilderness hut in Savage Gulf State Natural Area / South Cumberland State Park. It’s a walk-in (hike-in) cabin with six wood bunks and a wood-burning fireplace, plus a fire ring outside.

Use is by reservation through the Tennessee State Parks reservation system. The cabin area has a natural spring nearby, but water availability can drop during dry periods; there’s also a shared pit toilet for campers and cabin guests. Tent and hammock camping immediately around the cabin area is prohibited, and the approach is an roughly 8.5-mile hike one-way from the Savage Gulf East (Stone Door) parking lot.
