Route Details

Igloo Cabin is a volunteer-run day-use cabin at the Rossland Range Recreation Site near Rossland, British Columbia. Use it as a warm shelter stop on winter self-guided routes, and plan around the site rules: cabins are for daytime use only; no overnight camping or reserving is permitted, and stays follow a first-come, first-served approach.

Facilities include a fireplace, plus outhouse-style sanitation and shelter space. The Rossland Range network around Strawberry Pass also supports backcountry skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing—so the cabin works well as a lunch/break destination on touring outings.

Bring what you need to be self-sufficient: bring your own fire-starter and toilet paper, keep the cabin clean, and stock it with kindling and firewood when you use the fire. Candles are not allowed; use battery LED lights instead. Bears do frequent the area, so plan for bear-aware practices and be prepared for self-rescue.
