Joe L'Orsa Cabin

Joe L'Orsa Cabin is a backcountry wilderness hut in Silverking Basin within Babine Mountains Provincial Park near Smithers, BC. It sleeps up to about 20 people and is operated by the park.

Stays run on a strict first-come, first-served basis (no reservations). The hut has a wood stove with firewood provided, a steel counter for cooking stoves, and basic cookware/dishes; there is a pit toilet outside and a river nearby for water that should be treated before use. Fees are $10 per night for adults (16+) and $5 per night for youth (ages 6–15), paid via advance payment at the BC Parks office in Smithers or by depositing exact cash in the self-registration vault box at the cabin.
