Lizzie Creek Cabin
Route Details
Lizzie Creek Cabin is an unserviced backcountry cabin for winter and summer use on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservations). It has a wood stove and liquid-fuel stoves, plus liquid-fuel lanterns; there’s no fee to use the cabin. The cabin sleeps about 8 people, with two downstairs and six in the loft, and capacity tightens beyond that.
Plan on bringing your own fuel and spare mantles for the lanterns, plus a tent as backup because the hut can fill. Storage/gear expectations are rustic (mouse activity is common), and condensation can be an issue on the uninsulated metal roof—especially when cooking or drying items inside without lids or cloths. A helicopter-built outhouse is located nearby. If you’re visiting as a non-VOC party, you can post your intended dates on the non-VOC hut registration board (registration is not a reservation).
