Mosquito Cabin is a day-use backcountry cabin/shelter in the Rossland Range Recreation Site area, run by the Friends of Rossland Range Society. It’s a one-level wood cabin with a wood stove for warming during winter or summer visits, and use is free on a first-come, first-served basis—no reservations are available and it isn’t set up for overnight stays.
It’s used year-round by people out for activities like snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, backcountry touring, and hiking. Plan to bring everything you need for your visit because there’s no running water or electricity, and pack out all garbage and leave the space clean and shared respectfully.
