Nordic Shelter
Nordic Shelter is a Castlegar Nordic Ski Club warming shelter on the Paulson Pass trail network. It’s an A-frame cabin-style shelter maintained for skiers on the ski trails, with facilities including a map board, a first-aid kit, and a topo-style site map at the shelter. The shelter sits at an elevation of 1468 m and is part of the Castlegar Nordic network.
Access to the Paulson Pass trail network and the shelters is tied to club day-use fees: use is first-come, first-served for the four A-frame warming shelters (including Nordic) rather than reservable. Day passes can be purchased for access. For the specific shelter, dogs are not allowed within the ski area, and the shelter is maintained by Castlegar Nordic after being passed on by the Sons of Norway and rebuilt in 2009.
