Olallie Meadows Cabin

Olallie Meadows Cabin is a backcountry wilderness hut associated with Olallie Lake Resort, in the Olallie Lake area of the Mt. Hood National Forest. It sleeps up to 8 people and is set up for a self-contained cabin stay with a kitchen/living spaces, bunk bedroom, and a loft with a queen bed.

Inside, you’ll find propane lighting and a propane refrigerator, plus a stove/oven for cooking and a wood stove for heat; firewood is provided. A vault toilet is about 75 feet from the cabin, and cell service is not available at the cabin (it’s very spotty around the Olallie Lake Scenic Area).

Use is reservation-based through the Recreation.gov Olallie Lake Guard Station Cabin Page, and the typical rate is $125 to $150 per night. Plan on bringing your own bedding/sleeping bags, towels/wash cloths, cookware/dishes, paper towels, food, and personal gear (including a flashlight/lantern for emergencies and insect repellent).

Access is by vehicle; higher-clearance or 4-wheel drive is recommended, but passenger cars can reach it if driven slowly. Roads close in winter, and seasonal access can be delayed by late snows, so road conditions can affect when you can reach the cabin.
