Route Details

Ozalenka Valley Cabin is an Ozalenka Alpine Club alpine backcountry cabin in the Ozalenka area near McBride, British Columbia. Use is by reservation, and the cabin is a replacement two-story structure completed in fall 2022, providing key base-camp gear and heating for summer and winter trips.

The cabin is stocked with cooking and dining gear (a three-burner propane stove, cookware, plates/bowls/cutlery), sleeping pads, solar lighting, and a wood stove with firewood; it also has an outhouse. The approach starts on the Dore River Forest Service Road, then follows signed junctions for Ozalenka: road travel is about 6 km to a junction, then about 8 km to another right fork, then about 4 km to the trailhead; from the trailhead you cross the river and follow the creek up the valley for about 7 km to reach the cabin.
