Peach Cove Hut
Peach Cove Hut is a Department of Conservation serviced backcountry hut in the Whangārei Heads area, within Bream Head Scenic Reserve. It sleeps up to 8 people on platform bunks and uses a keypad/PIN system so stays require an online booking in advance; it’s locked, and the PIN is issued after payment.
The hut is unheated and provides mattresses and rainwater stored in a tank (drinking water should be treated/filtered/boiled; water supply can be limited). Cooking must be done on portable gas stoves and no open fires are allowed (including on beaches). A long-drop toilet is a short walk from the hut. Fees apply using Backcountry Hut Passes from 1 May to 30 September, with passes not accepted from 1 October to 30 April. There’s no fireplace and dogs are not allowed.
