Pocaterra Hut

Pocaterra Hut is a day-use warming hut in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park (Kananaskis Country). It’s free to use and is meant for stopping for warmth rather than booking overnight backcountry accommodation.

Access is direct from the Pocaterra parking area off Highway 40. The hut has seating/tables, flush toilets, and a gas fireplace for warming up.

In winter, the day-use area provides access to cross-country ski trails, with the Pocaterra Warming Hut used as shelter during chilly days. In summer, the day-use area supports hiking and biking and provides access to nearby campground trails.
