Puerto Jarillo
Puerto Jarillo (often referred to as Refugio Puerto Jarillo) is a rustic high-mountain shelter in Venezuela’s Sierra de la Culata National Park, used as a base or rest point for high-altitude hikers and mountaineers working across the La Culata and Valle Muerto trail networks. It sits in the Andes above the Los Jarillos ranger area, in páramo conditions with high-altitude vegetation, where temperatures can swing sharply between day and night.
