Rainbow Cabin is a BC Parks wilderness cabin in Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, set up for backcountry overnights on a first-come, first-served basis. Use is free, but space is limited: you’re required to buy/register for a backcountry permit before entering the park, and you’ll need to camp outside if the cabin fills up.
Inside, the cabin setup includes bunk beds and a wood stove; nearby are a bear cache and a pit toilet. It’s intended for summer use; in winter it’s strictly for emergency use. Bring drinking water (or a way to melt snow), a sleeping pad, and a sleeping bag.
