Rangitikei Hut

Rangitikei Hut is a private 4-bunk bivvy/hut run through helicopter access on Māori land in the Kaimanawa / East Taupo Lands Trust block area near Taupō. It’s set up for hunting groups and is used year-round for Sika and red deer hunting under block rules.

The hut is equipped with mattresses, a gas cooker, heating, an open fire, and an outhouse (long-drop toilet). The booking system is limited to a maximum of 7 nights per booking, with landing permits required for helicopter arrival; land fees apply (plus helicopter transport costs). Typical hunting rules include a maximum of one deer per person plus one per party, and DOC hunting permits are required if you hunt on adjoining DOC land.
