Refuge Anse-aux-Vaches

Rustic backcountry refuge on the Sentier des Caps de Charlevoix above the St. Lawrence. Access is on foot (hiking in summer, snowshoe/ski approaches in winter) via the marked trail network; plan your route between refuges and start from one of the official trailheads.

Inside you’ll find a wood stove with firewood, an axe and newspaper, a large pot, and a picnic table. A dry toilet is nearby. A natural water source is close to the site—treat or boil before use.

Bring your own sleeping pad and bag, stove and fuel, dishes/utensils, headlamp, toilet paper, repair kit, and waste bags. Expect a simple mezzanine sleeping area; no potable water, electricity, or vehicle access.

Policies: no dogs on multi‑day routes or in refuges/camping; no outdoor fires anywhere on the Sentier des Caps; pack out all trash. Book online; an access fee to the trail network applies in addition to lodging where required. Reserve here: sentierdescaps.com.
