Refugi de les Salines

Refugi de les Salines is a free-use backcountry hut run by the Centre Excursionista Empordanès, attached to the Santuari de les Salines near Maçanet de Cabrenys. It offers simple shelter for overnighters and is used mainly by hikers traversing the area.

The hut sleeps 12 and has one indoor room. Basic provisions include a fireplace, space for cooking, and an outdoor water source; there are no showers, and no heating is provided. Because it’s a free, open hut, there’s no advance booking—plan on first-come, first-served and follow the expectations of leaving the premises clean and securing doors and windows when you depart.
