Refugio at Lago Diablo
Refugio at Lago Diablo is a mountain refuge reached on foot in the Los Huemules area near El Chaltén, Argentina. It serves as an overnight base on the Laguna Diablo–Puesto Cagliero trek, located directly at the lagoon edge with glacier views and a fireplace for warmth.
Overnight access is limited to advance reservations and requires paying an entrance fee to enter the private reserve. Entry is restricted to set daily hours (every day from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.), with check-in timing specified for arrivals later in that window.
This refuge is set up for full-board stays, and it operates with a meal schedule that includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon coffee, and dinner during your stay. The experience is designed for backcountry visitors in a remote area with no mobile signal along the approach; pets are not allowed in the reserve.
