Refugio Aurelio Castelli

Refugio Aurelio Castelli is a backcountry wilderness hut in the Los Gigantes massif, at about 2,250 m. It’s run by Club Andino Córdoba and sits in a valley at the foot of Los Mogotes, serving as a base for hiking and nearby climbing areas.

Inside, the refuge has running water plus electricity and gas, and it provides dormitory sleeping space for up to 44 people. The dormitory uses 44 mattresses/cribs (colchonetas), and drinking water is available.
