Refugio El Arco

Refugio El Arco is a basic backcountry hut in Chile used as a remote overnight stop on the route toward Paso El León / Valle Cochamó. It’s a simple structure for sleeping and cooking rather than a serviced lodge.

Bring your own sleeping setup; visitors typically rely on a sleeping bag and sleeping pad. The hut has a fireplace for cooking/heating and dry toilets (outhouse-style). It does not have constant electricity, hot water, or Wi‑Fi, so plan for water and warmth to be fully self-managed.

Use is first-come, first-served with no advance booking required, and it prioritizes long-distance trekkers. If you encounter any local camping fees, carry cash in Chilean pesos as a backup.
