Sayllapata

Sayllapata is a backcountry alpine hut used as a trek trailhead/checkpoint on the Salkantay Trek route in Peru. For multi-day treks on this corridor, it’s typically reached early on day one, where groups meet porters and transition into the hike (often following the common itinerary that continues toward Soraypampa and then Humantay).

Because the sky lodges and dome/camping accommodations along this trekking zone are generally run through local trekking agencies as part of packaged multi-day tours, arranging the right operator is the practical way to secure overnight stays connected with this segment rather than treating Sayllapata as an independently booked hut destination.
