The jive/ the shuck
The jive/ the shuck is a backcountry-style river cabin on the Shenandoah River in Luray, Virginia, run by Christophers riverside cabins. The cabin is set up for stays by small groups, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a total sleeping setup for 2–6 guests in about 1,400+ square feet of space.
River time is built in: the property has river frontage with a private graveled path to the water for fishing, swimming, and tubing, and a canoe is provided (with 2 adult and 1 child life vest). On-site you can also use a gas fireplace inside and a large fire pit plus a charcoal grill outside, and there’s a deck for time by the river.
For the booking practicals, the posted nightly rate is $225, with a 3-night minimum on holidays, and a first payment of 50% required to book followed by a second payment due 10 days before arrival (automatically collected). Linens are provided for the 3 queen beds, but guests are asked to bring their own towels; smoking isn’t permitted inside the cabin (allowed on deck and on the property).
