Twin Falls Hut
Today’s announcement comes as the ACC has recently been granted a licence to operate Twin Falls as a part of the existing ACC hut network; Twin Falls will be available – unstaffed, self-catered, self-guided, and as a shared roof accommodation facility. This model fits well with current hut offerings and is aligned with the ACC’s mission of encouraging adventure and exploration in the outdoors. In collaboration with Parks Canada, the Twin Falls Tea House National Historic Site will be available to hut users year-round.
Before we open the hut for reservations, the buildings need some love. This includes renovating the kitchen, updating the greywater system, adding solar power for lighting and air circulation, and building a new outhouse. We’re hoping to complete these upgrades as soon as possible, with reservations open for the summer of 2027. The new hut is slated to sleep 20 people comfortably, and we’re very excited for this addition to the hut network!
In the summer, the hut is an excellent destination for hikers. Set in the heart of the Yoho Valley, the Twin Falls Hut offers stunning views, excellent hiking opportunities and is a great base for adventure. The hike into the hut is just over 8km, with under 300m of elevation gain. With this addition to the existing hut network, hut-to-hut trekking next to impressive waterfalls, expansive glaciers, and big peaks becomes accessible.
In the winter, the Twin Falls Hut offers an excellent lower risk route between Yoho Peak (Louise & Richard Guy) Hut and Little Yoho Valley (Stanley Mitchell) Hut. Guests will have the option to skip the dangers of Isolated Col and descend directly to Twin Falls. The addition of Twin Falls to our hut network provides additional options and increased safety during periods of inclement weather or elevated avalanche risk.
