Vera Hut

Vera Hut is an unstaffed backcountry hut on the Frenchman’s Cap Track in Tasmania, run by Parks and Wildlife. It has bunks and tables and sleeps 20, but it does not provide cooking facilities—plan on carrying your own food and stove setup for campsite use rather than relying on the hut.

Hut use is limited: you can stay for a maximum of one night, and there are toilet facilities and a rainwater tank at the hut. For planning, hut spaces are intended to be used through the track’s registration/booking process, with limited capacity on the route and a requirement to carry a tent in case the hut is full.
