Burt Ravine
Burt Ravine is the compact west-side basin immediately north of the Cog Railway ridge. Ammonoosuc Ravine lies on the other side of that ridge. This position makes the railway corridor a useful landmark for distinguishing the two neighboring drainages.

Jewell Trail
Ski tourJewell connects the Gulfside Trail with the west-side base area at Marshfield Station. From Mount Washington's summit, the operator describes the return as Gulfside to Jewell. The Cog's property also contains a Jewell trailhead, with a land-use fee for access on that property.
