Abri du chalet du Pas du Loup
Abri du chalet du Pas du Loup is an unmanaged, free-access alpine shelter in the Bornes-Aravis massif at about 1,530 m. It’s a simple wooden shelter with a concrete floor that was renovated in 2013 and provides only basic, spare conditions—used as a dépannage shelter rather than a staffed refuge.
Sleep is first-come, first-served (no reservable bunks or reserved floor space). Bring your own sleeping bag and supplies. The inside setup is very minimal; there’s no particular comfort, and the shelter is suitable for emergency use. Water may be available via a small pipe/tap outflow in front of the main chalet area, with a nearby water source close by.
Access: From Chapelle Notre-Dame des Neiges, head into the Plaine de Dran toward Pas du Loup; the shelter sits in the upper part of that approach, in the direction of Pas du Loup.
