Angora Lakes Resort

Angora Lakes Resort is a rustic cabin resort used as a backcountry-style lodging stop at Angora Lakes in the South Lake Tahoe area. It operates seasonally, with day use available and nine small cabins available for weekly stays.

Lodging is by weekly rental only (no group cabin rentals). Cabins are limited to a maximum of 4–6 people depending on cabin size, and wood stoves provide heat with wood included; showers and low-flow toilets are provided. Prices for weekly cabin rentals run $2,100–$2,800 plus 14% county room tax, and reservations are handled via a waitlist (the resort does not take direct online reservations; update/renew your request by phone).

Day use centers on snacks and drinks and includes rentals such as rowboats, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards. The resort is open mid-June through mid-September; resort amenities are about 1/2 mile above the parking area and the approach is along rugged, rocky, sandy terrain—stay on the trail. A $12 parking fee is required (cash preferred; bring exact cash).

House rules are strict: no pets, no camping, and no barbecues or campfires. Smoking and amplified music are prohibited, and the cabins prohibit items like microwaves, televisions, phones/internet, dishwashers, and other electronics/household items listed on the cabin rentals page. Dogs (if allowed off-lake) must be on a leash and kept out of the water.
