Bear Cave

Bear Cave is a sport-climbing crag in the KLO Creek area near Kelowna, British Columbia. The walls are part of the newer Myra Canyon development and are reached by a trail approach from McCulloch Road, beyond Gallagher’s Golf Course.

The sector has developed beyond its early two-route listing, with nine sport climbs currently represented in climbing-area data. Known lines include Bearly Worth It (5.11d, 20 m, 10 bolts), Kung Fu Panda (5.12b, 20 m, 10 bolts), and Grizzly Bear (5.14a), whose first ascent was recorded on May 22, 2016.

The approach follows the trail past an old gravel pit and a large pipeline, then continues toward Angel Springs before reaching the bear walls. The crag is forested, shaded, and cooled by a nearby stream, making it a useful summer destination for projecting harder routes.

The walls are on private land associated with Myra Bellevue Adventure Park, while nearby climbing lies within KLO Creek Regional Park. The area has seen ongoing development; loose material may remain on newer lines, so climb with a helmet and treat the access arrangement responsibly.
