Big Spring Brook Hut

Big Spring Brook Hut is a Katahdin Woods and Waters backcountry hut used for winter overnights. It sleeps up to 6 people in bunk-style sleeping platforms and is set up for self-sufficient stays in a remote, carry-in/carry-out setting (no potable water at the hut).

Use is limited to the winter season via reservations, typically mid-January to mid-March. Expect a wood-burning stove for heat, pit toilets, and packing requirements: bring all food and trash, melt snow or treat water from nearby sources, and plan for no cell service/electricity/lighting; the hut and adjacent trails are not patrolled.
