Cabane d Arrouge

Cabane d Arrouge is an unstaffed backcountry stone bothy in the French Pyrenees, set near Lac d'Espingo for overnight use by hikers traveling off the main circuits. It’s a single-room hut of about 10 m² with a mezzanine that’s accessible, built around a functioning fireplace and a door/window that close properly.

Inside, it’s designed for up to 8 people, with 4 beds and bedding typically arranged as mat mattresses (with 2 mats and basic seating/ tables). Expect the hut to be self-sufficient: no stove is provided, so bring what you need for warmth and cooking; wood is generally stored to the right of the fireplace. Use is free and there’s no formal booking process—plan on first-come, first-served occupancy.
