Cabane du Chenot

Cabane du Chenot is a free, open-to-walkers backcountry shelter in the Vosges (near Wildersbach). It’s set up for day use as a picnic/rest area, and it also provides simple shelter space for people passing through.

Inside there’s a large fireplace and a cement floor, with seating provided by tables and benches (about five sets). There’s no bedding (no mattresses or blankets) and no caretaker service, so plan to be self-sufficient and bring your own sleeping gear if you’re staying overnight.

The shelter includes a chimney/fireplace but no stove/heating unit called out as provided, and it’s positioned right by a managed picnic area with outdoor tables and benches.
