Chalet Vidron

Chalet Vidron is a mountain stop in Mercantour National Park, used along the hiking approach toward Lac de Trécolpas and onward toward Refuge de la Cougourde. It lies on the main ascent line from Le Boréon; at marker 421 the route continues past Chalet Vidron (marker 422) before crossing the Peïrastrèche Bridge en route to the Cougourde area.

Treat Chalet Vidron as a passage point rather than an overnight destination: overnight use in this itinerary is tied to Refuge de la Cougourde, where summer guarding runs roughly from early June to late September. The refuge operates with limited sleeping capacity in summer and is also accessible outside guarding in the wider seasonal context, while Chalet Vidron itself is not presented as something you book for overnight stays.
