Great Expectations Area

Great Expectations Area is a sector of the From The Ground Up crag at Harrison Bluffs near Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia. It sits on the lowest tier, beside the point where the trail from the powerline road reaches the cliff.

The sector has 18 listed climbs, combining trad, sport, and top-rope routes. The climbing is mainly single-pitch v-cracks and aretes, with some slabs and two-pitch lines; examples range from 5.9+ trad on Great Expectations to 5.11a sport on Murder in the Dark, with several 5.10 routes between.

Approach time is about one minute from the powerline. Early spring can bring damp conditions to the climbs. Twilight Sparkle adds a more specialized option: a 50-foot, single-pitch trad line with a south-facing roof-corner offwidth.
