Illawong Lodge

Illawong Lodge is a backcountry lodge in Kosciuszko National Park (New South Wales), managed by Illawong Ski Tourers for use as a base for cross-country and backcountry skiing and for bushwalking. The lodge is at about 1600 metres altitude and is several kilometres from the nearest roads and other services (power, gas, water, sewer, telephones, and ski lifts).

Use is tied to bookings through Illawong Ski Tourers; reservation is required. The lodge supports winter access and is near the Snowy River, which is used as a main access point for skiers and bushwalkers heading up toward the main range. Plan for limited infrastructure by bringing what you need for a remote stay, including appropriate winter gear if visiting in snowy conditions.
