Keogan

Keogan is a basic backcountry shelter in Gatineau Park on Trail 1 near the Fortune Lake Parkway. It’s a cabin-type shelter and winter access is by skis only; in summer you can reach it on foot or by bicycle (and by car in summer to the park trail access).

Use is daytime-only: overnight stays are not permitted at day shelters. Plan on free, first-come first-served use for resting and warming up, and come prepared with what you need for the time you’ll be out (including lunch/snacks/drinks and items for starting a fire in the wood stove, if necessary); shelters also have no lighting or electricity.
