Refuge de l'Érable is a rustic backcountry hut rental in the Parc régional des Grandes-Coulées area. Access is by foot from a parking lot about 2 km away, and vehicles/motorized transport aren’t permitted on the refuge site.

The booking is handled online through the park’s lodging system. Check-in starts at 4:00 PM and departure is required by 9:00 AM; two days before arrival, you’re sent an access code for the mezzanine. There’s no supervision or reception on site, and no on-site services—plan to be fully self-sufficient with what you bring.

The rental includes the refuge for the night, a wood-burning stove (firewood provided), and a double-burner hot plate; propane is not included. Sleeping capacity is for 6 people, with 4 floor mattresses covered in vinyl (bring your own bedding/sleeping setup if you exceed the provided mattresses).

An outhouse is located a few meters from the refuge. You’ll need to bring essentials like drinking water, food, a lighter, utensils/cook gear, propane, a sleeping bag/pillow, flashlight, toilet paper, first-aid kit, and mosquito repellent; dogs are allowed but must never be left alone in the dwelling.
