Les Cabourons

Les Cabourons is a backcountry wilderness hut/refuge on the International Appalachian Trail in Québec, used as a fixed overnight stop on the long-distance route between Mont Jacques-Cartier and Mont Saint-Pierre. It’s equipped for hut-style lodging, with a wood stove, bunk beds (without mattresses), and camping tables; the site also has a dry toilet.

It accommodates up to 8 people and provides bunk-style sleeping plus basic site camping. The hut is on the SIA/IAT GR A1 corridor and is managed through the SIA/IAT Québec reserving system, where you select dates and check live availability.

Pricing varies by season and party size on the reserving calendar. For the refuge lodging category, booking shows rates such as $30.60 for two people (01 juillet au 16 aout) and $24.65 for two people (01 au 30 juin); winter pricing is also offered on the same system.

When booking, cancellations due to abandonment include a non-refundable fee component: a minimum fee of 20% of the total amount (or a minimum base fee) is stated in the reserving terms. For stays that include tent camping, the reserving calendar also lists “Camping au sol” with size and party limits (notably a 12 ft x 12 ft platform footprint and a maximum of 4 people).
