Lighthouse Cottage
Lighthouse Cottage is a Department of Conservation backcountry lodge within the Godley Head Campsite area at Awaroa/Godley Head. It’s set up as a fully equipped bunkroom style lodge, with electric heating and a fully equipped kitchen (including a fridge and electric stove), plus power, table and chairs, and toilets shared with the Godley Head Campsite.
Bookings are required. The hut uses online booking and issues a combination code for the campground gate and Lighthouse Cottage with your confirmation; bookings must be made before 8 pm on the evening of arrival. Fires are not allowed, no dogs are allowed, and boil water before use. The bunk room has a 3-bed platform plus a single bunk above (4 beds total); mattresses are provided, but you need to bring your own bedding. Mobile phone coverage is available at the cottage.
